Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of effectively decreasing 1,4-dioxane concentration in the water discharged from the polyester producing process and in the wastewater containing 1,4-dioxane. SOLUTION: By distillation of the wastewater containing water and 1,4-dioxane discharged from a process for producing polyester through esterification and polycondensation of a dicarboxylic acid and a diol containing ethylene glycol, the 1,4-dioxane in the wastewater is distilled and a bottom product is obtained which does not contain 1,4-dioxane substantially.
