SOLUTION: There are provided systems and methods for processing respiratory signals derived from respiratory inductive plethysmographic sensors mounted on integument, include: a step 27 of filtering respiratory signals and non-respiratory signal components; a step 29 of calibrating respiratory signals; and a step 31 of artifact recognition and baseline determination to recognize respiratory events 35.
