PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile electronic device that has high operability and can display a visually featured image. SOLUTION: The mobile electronic device includes: a device body 1; a first image display panel 10 disposed on a surface of the device body 1; a second image display panel 20; and a connection mechanism. The second image display panel 20 is constituted to transmit light entering from the rear surface side to the image display surface side of the second image display panel 20, and overlaps with an image display surface 11 of the first image display panel 10. The connection mechanism slidably connects the second image display panel 20 to the device body 1. The device body 1 includes: an information acquirer for acquiring information on the amount of travel changing according to the amount of travel of the second image display panel 20 from a prescribed position; and a controller for controlling image display operation of the first image display panel 10 and/or the second image display panel 20, based on information on the amount of travel acquired by the information acquirer.
