Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe detector capable of accurately discovering, mining, and concentrating SMS at a deep seafloor. SOLUTION: The probe detector includes: a light emitting section 21 emitting ultraviolet light to a seafloor substance or debris thereof; a light receiving section 21 detecting a wavelength and luminance of fluorescence to be emitted from the seafloor substance or debris thereof by irradiating the seafloor substance or debris thereof with the light emitted from the light emitting section 21; and a control section 30 probing and detecting a type of the seafloor substance or debris thereof based on the wavelength and luminance of the fluorescence detected by the light receiving section 21.
