Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical production method of an optical activity aromatic heterocyclic five-membered ring substituted hydroxyacetic ester which can be an important medical and agricultural chemical intermediate. SOLUTION: A glyoxylic acid ester and a sililated aromatic heterocyclic five-membered ring are made to react in the presence of "a transition metal complex which has an optical activity ligand" and successively hydrolyzed, and thereby the optical activity aromatic heterocyclic five-membered ring substituted hydroxyacetic ester can be manufactured. The production method of this invention is a catalytic asymmetric synthesis method, and further, efficiency of asymmetric induction is very high. Moreover, the method can be suitably adapted also for a non-substituted furan and a novel compound optical active hydroxyacetic ester in which pyrroles have substituted, further the optical active hydroxyacetic ester in which thiophenes have substituted can also be manufactured with very high optical purity. The invention provides the practical production method of the optical active aromatic hetrocyclic five-membered ring substituted hydroxyacetic ester which can be an important medical and agricultural chemical intermediate like this.
