BUDDHIST ALTAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Buddhist altar using slide-type hinges, which has a neat appearance by keeping the hinges unobtrusive when its folding doors are open. SOLUTION: A Buddhist altar body 12 includes a pair of right and left side panels 12b, each consisting of an outside panel 18b, an inside panel 20b, and an interspace 22 for holding a slide-type hinge 28 between them. The slide-type hinge 28 keeps a metal washer 28a, located on the side of the Buddhist altar body 12, is attached to the inner surface of the outside panel 18b of the Buddhist altar body 12, and a hinge part 28b, located on the side of the folding door 16, is attached to the inner surface of the base part 16a of the folding door 16. The front end of the inside panel 20b of the Buddhist altar body 12 is provided with a rotary shaft extending vertically, which makes the metal washer 28a of the slide-type hinge 28 be exposed when the folding door is turned inside of the Buddhist altar body 12, and is also provided with a vertical bar 14 for covering the metal washer 28a of the slide-type hinge 28 when the folding door is turned outside of the Buddhist altar body 12.
