Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed flat type secondary battery excellent in safety, square or oval shaped and hard to generate an internal short circuit even when drop shock is received. SOLUTION: The sealed flat type secondary battery includes a flat type battery outer shell, a flat type electrode body arranged inside of the battery outer body, a sealing plate 17 welded to seal openings of the battery outer body, and a spacer 15 arranged between the sealing plate 17 and the electrode body. The spacer 15 is structured of a body 15a to form a central part, and end parts 15b to form both ends in a longitudinal direction, and the end parts 15b are formed of cushioning materials.
