OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount a semiconductor laser in a laser holder by accurate positioning, and to improve the heat dissipation performance of the semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: A pressing member which is held in the laser holder together with the semiconductor laser and brings the semiconductor laser into close contact with an inner wall in the laser holder has a leaf spring shape which presses the semiconductor laser to two directions of a direction of a bottom face of the semiconductor laser and that of a side face perpendicularly intersecting each other, and can be obtained by installing the pressing member at the upper face side being the opened face of the semiconductor laser. Also, in the leaf spring of the pressing member to press the semiconductor laser to the direction of the bottom face, it is preferable to bring its face into contact with the semiconductor laser larger than the other face in contact with the laser holder.
