Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow information of articles on a shelf to be read without requiring a reader/writer per shelf antenna of the shelf. SOLUTION: An article information reading system includes: a plurality of stages of shelves 2 arranged in a vertical direction, on which articles 3 to which RF tags 4 wherein article information is stored are attached are placed; a plurality of shelf antennas 6 disposed on the shelves 2; and a repeater which is connected to the shelf antennas 6 via a coaxial cable 7 and makes the antennas perform wireless communication with the RF tags by receiving a radio wave emitted from the outside and transmitting it to the antennas.
