DRIVE SUPPORT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a drive support apparatus capable of improving accuracy in determination of collision probability between an own vehicle and the other vehicle and capable of preventing misdetermination of probability that the other vehicle traveling on a road parallel with a road on which the own vehicle is traveling collides therewith. SOLUTION: The drive support apparatus includes; an own vehicle information acquisition means, an other vehicle information acquisition means and a collision probability determination means. The collision probability determination means calculates the shortest distance between a straight line extended from a position of the other vehicle in an advancing direction of the other vehicle and a position of the own vehicle by using a straight line distance between the position of the own vehicle and the position of the other vehicle and an angle formed by a straight line connecting the position of the own vehicle and the position of the other vehicle and the straight line extended from the position of the other vehicle in the advancing direction of the other vehicle, and when the shortest distance is less than a preset distance, determines the probability of collision between the own vehicle and the other vehicle.
