Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for accurately preventing surging without increasing cost. SOLUTION: A rotation speed parameter (OMG) in accordance with a rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is detected, a torque parameter of each cylinder (MFJUD) is calculated, and a standard deviation (σ-TRQ) of the torque parameter of each cylinder is calculated. An allowable acceleration map of a power transmission mechanism, and a standard deviation map defining the standard deviation corresponding to the allowable acceleration for each equivalent inertial weight of a vehicle are stored. The allowable acceleration of the corresponding surging is calculated by referring to the allowable acceleration map based on the detected gear ratio. The corresponding standard deviation is calculated as a threshold (σ-TRQ-SUR) by referring to the standard deviation map based on the calculated allowable acceleration and the equivalent inertial weight of the vehicle. It is determined that there is a possibility of occurrence of surging when the calculated standard deviation is larger than the threshold, and a variable valve train is controlled so that an overlap period of an air intake/exhaust valve is reduced.
