Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cassette that prevents some of the layers of a magnetic tape from being irregularly wound to protrude from other layers when the magnetic tape is wound around a reel included in a cassette at high speed by using a leader tape. SOLUTION: In the magnetic tape cassette, when the magnetic tape is wound around the reel 5 included in the cassette 3 from a pancake 1, the magnetic tape is treated by a surface treatment unit 2 which is filled with an active gas, such as ozone or the like, so that a difference in surface energy between the front and back surfaces of the magnetic tape is 5 [mN/m] or less, and the surface energy of each of the front and back surfaces is 20-28 [mN/m].
