Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a single-nanoparticle-supporting compound that improves an efficiency of supporting a fine particle of a ceria compound oxide on an alumina carrier without repulsion between the alumina carrier and the fine particle of a ceria compound oxide, and to provide a single-nanoparticle-supporting compound obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a single-nanoparticle-supporting compound includes a step of adjusting the pH of a colloid of the fine particle of a ceria compound oxide having a mean particle diameter of 10 nm or smaller to be 4.5-7.0, a step of adjusting the pH of an alumina slurry to be 6.0-8.0, and a step of mixing the colloid of the fine particle of a ceria compound oxide and the alumina slurry and synthesizing the single-nanoparticle-supporting compound having the single nanoparticle of a ceria compound oxide supported on the alumina.
