Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically aligning a stationary antenna (212) with a corresponding rotor antenna (218) and a method for attaching the stationary antenna (212) to the rotor antenna (218) relating to a rotor (222), regarding a system and method for configuring a translating telemetry stationary antenna (212). SOLUTION: The method includes a step of attaching the stationary antenna (212) to an inner circumferential part of a support frame (202), a step of attaching a plurality of radial air bearings (210) to the support frame (202) to maintain the radial alignment of the stationary antenna (212) with respect to the rotor antenna (218), and a step of attaching a plurality of axial air bearings (208) to the support frame (202) to maintain the axial alignment of the stationary antenna (212) with respect to the rotor antenna (218).
