Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that normally supports printing monochromatic which covers the most part of output scripts and that enables output of color print when really necessary, thereby avoiding an unnecessary adjustment of color density and the correction of displacement, which results in avoiding an unnecessary toner consumption and the occurrence of adjustment time, preventing unit deterioration, and realizing efficient color image formation. SOLUTION: A mode switch 60 is a hard switch which is integrally configured with a main power switch, and a mode switching means that selectively and manually switches between a monochrome mode and a full color mode. When the mode is set at the monochrome mode, power supply to a part required for image creation in modes other than the monochrome mode is blocked.
