PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow various functions to be dynamically settable so as to prevent hardware resources of field equipment from being wasted. SOLUTION: Field equipment 20C includes a programmable device 206 that is capable of programming a functional circuit such as a memory or an accelerator required for constructing a system based on hardware configuration information. A communication part 200 of the field equipment 20C downloads hardware configuration information Hc from a control device via a control line 30. A CPU 202 accumulates the downloaded hardware configuration information Hc in a memory 204 and sets the downloaded hardware configuration information Hc in the programmable device 206. The programmable device 206 configures a memory for holding software So to operate functions, and also, configures an accelerator to assist operations of the functions on the basis of the hardware configuration information Hc.
