Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method which is capable of determining a defect and a carved character from an image in which the inside of a tire of an object to be inspected is photographed, and to provide an image processor, an image processing program, and a recording medium. SOLUTION: In a template area setting step a2, a template area is set in a position where an object to be determined is included. In a self correlation value calculating step a3, a self correlation value is calculated, and in a differential processing step a4, a correlation differential value is calculated. In a maximum position detecting step a5, a maximum position of a correlation differential value is detected. In a deviation value calculating step a6, the interval of maximum positions is calculated and deviation values of the interval of the maximum positions are calculated. In a step for calculating number of linear patterns a10, the total number of bladder grooves in an image is calculated. In determining steps a7, a8, a11, a13, it is determined which one of the carved character or the defect the object to be determined is based on the deviation values of the interval of the maximum positions and the total number of the bladder grooves.
