Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial mildew-proofing agent excellent in heat resistance and dispersibility into a resin, a ceramic, a metal, a solvent or the like and a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: Inorganic particles having a functional group capable of initiating polymerization or a polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated group are obtained by reacting inorganic particles with a compound having a group capable of initiating polymerization or a polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated group. The antibacterial mildew-proofing agent is obtained by polymerizing a monomer having a functional group capable of being converted into a cationic group onto the inorganic particles, thereafter converting the functional group in the polymer into a cationic group, and then subjecting the resulting product to salt exchange reaction with a superstrong acid to form an antibacterial mildew-proofing agent in which a polymer having a superstrong acid anion and a cationic group is graft-bonded onto the inorganic particles.
