SOLUTION: The metal filament body reel 12 includes a winding drum 14 and a pair of flanges 16. The flange 16 has a guide part 24 located on the radial outside. The guide part 24 is formed with a plurality of ribs 38 and recesses 36 located between the ribs 38. The flange 16 has an end face 26 located on the radial inside from the recesses 36 continuously with the recesses 36. An end point P2 located on the radial innermost side in a boundary between the rib 38 and the side face of the recess 36 continuous with the end face from the bottom face of the recess 36 is located on the axially extended surface of the winding surface 48 or located on the radial outside from the winding surface 48. When the outer diameter of the flange is set to D, it is preferable that the difference (Rp-Ra) between the radius Ra of the winding surface and a distance Rp from the axis L1 of the reel to the point P2 satisfies a relational expression: 0≤(Rp-Ra)≤0.4(0.5D-Ra).
