AIRBAG DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for a vehicle capable of constraining an airbag body after deployment at a proper position, with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This airbag device for the vehicle includes an inflator for generating gas, the airbag body 11 mounted in a folded state in a side part of a vehicle body to be deployed by introduction of gas from the inflator, and a tension generating part mounted in the airbag body 11 and the vehicle body to constrain the position of the airbag body 11 during deployment of the airbag body 11. The tension generating part is made of belt-like tether 20 having one end 25 connected to a lower part of a front pillar 7 of the vehicle body and the other end 26 connected to a front end lower part of the airbag body 11 after deployment. The tether 20 includes a plurality of communicated bag parts, and each of the bag parts is inflated by introduction of gas from the inflator to shorten the length. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
