Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film and a gas barrier film having excellent oxygen blocking performance, water-vapor blocking performance and water resistant adhesiveness. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film is formed so that an anchor coat layer formed using a polyurethane-based resin (A) is provided at least on one surface of a polyester film, wherein a minute heat absorption peak before crystal melting obtained by a differential scanning calorimetry of the biaxially oriented polyester film for vapor deposition is 180-220°C, the polyurethane resin (A) is a resin formed using a polyisocyanate component (A1) and a polyol (A2), the polyisocyanate component (A1) contains an araliphatic di-isocyanate (A1A) and/or an alicyclic di-isocyanate (A1B), the polyol (A2) contains at least polyhydroxy alkane acid (A2C) and further contains a 2-6 alkane polyol (A2A) and/or a 2-6C polyoxyalkylene glycol (A2B).
