GREENING BLOCK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a greening block for inhibiting heat generated by back solar insolation from being transferred to a planting portion. SOLUTION: The greening block (A) includes a base block 10 and a greening base material-holding portion 20, and is structured as follows: the greening base material-holding portion 20 includes an upper holding portion 21, a lower holding portion 22 and a holding portion back surface 23; the upper holding portion 21 has a hook shape having the front end projecting downward in a side view; the lower holding portion 22 has a hook shape having the front end projecting upward in a side view; the upper holding portion 21 is formed with a watering hose groove 24; the lower holding portion 22 is formed with a drainage groove 25; and the holding portion back surface 23 is formed with a space-retaining groove 26. A greening base material S is inserted into the greening base material-holding portion 20 so as to make planting on a block fence X. An air layer is ensured by reducing a contact area between the greening base material-holding portion 20 and the greening base material S so as to inhibit the heat generated by back solar insolation from being transferred to the greening base material S.
