Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of assembling a first rotor and a second rotor having non-complementary flange openings. SOLUTION: The method of assembling the first rotor 102 and the second rotor 104 having the non-complementary flange openings 120, 122 includes: providing mating elements at the center of rotor flanges 110, 112; coupling dowels 140 into the flange openings in the rotor flange 110; and mating the mating elements and penetrating the dowels through corresponding flange openings in the other rotor flange 112. The rotors 102, 104 are then progressively drawn closer to each other by threading a threaded collar 150 onto each dowel 140 while ensuring alignment between the rotor flanges. Once the flanges contact each other, machining the flange openings makes the flange openings 120, 122 complementary. Once the dowels 140 are removed, the rotors can be coupled with each other by a fastener in each set of complementary flange openings 120, 122. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
