Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance cellulose gel improving convenience in use by well keeping a sheet shape before hydration, having a uniform and high-performance gelation performance even when having a comparatively low substitution degree, capable of being economically produced by decreasing time and energy required for reaction, and applicable to wide range applications without damaging safety and biodegradability of cellulose. SOLUTION: In a porous cellulose gel containing nonwoven fabric of cellulose fiber only oxidized at the C-6 site in a glucose residue and a liquid absorbed therein, the substitution degree of the oxidized cellulose fiber is 0.01-0.5.
