Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery having a superior and improved reliability. SOLUTION: The battery includes a battery element comprising a positive electrode 21 having a positive electrode active material layer 21B arranged on a strip-shaped positive electrode current collector 21A and a negative electrode 22 having a negative electrode active material layer 22B arranged on a strip-shaped negative electrode current collector 22A laminated with a separator interposed. The negative electrode active material layer 22B is arranged in the negative electrode 22 so that it can occupy an opposing region 22C1 and its peripheral region 22C2 superimposing a coated region 21C where the positive electrode active material layer 21B is arranged on the positive electrode current collector 21A, and a width W3 in an exposed region 22D where the negative electrode active material layer 22B is not formed and the negative electrode current collector 22A is exposed, out of regions neighboring the opposing regions 22C1 in the negative electrode 22 in a length direction (an X-direction) is made smaller than a width W4 of the opposing region 22C1.
