Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber which is easily connected to another optical fiber by using a conventional ferrule without using a special ferrule having a smaller outer diameter of an insertion hole for inserting an optical fiber, even when the outer diameter of a clad part of the optical fiber is smaller than 125 μm, and a method of manufacturing the same, and a method of machining the end part of the optical fiber. SOLUTION: The optical fiber includes: a first optical fiber including a first core part, a first clad part which is formed around the first core part and has an outer diameter smaller than 125 μm, and a plurality of hole parts extending in the direction of the axial center of the first core part, in the first clad part; a second optical fiber including a second core part connected to the first core part, and a second clad part which is formed around the second core part, has an outer diameter larger than the first clad part, and is connected to the first clad part; and a fusion connection part which is formed by fusing and connecting the end part of the first optical fiber and the end part of the second optical fiber.
