DOUBLE-DECK ELEVATOR AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-deck elevator in which at least two inner cars are arranged side by side in an outer car frame to be elevated in a shaft, in the direction of elevation in the shaft, having further improved landing accuracy. SOLUTION: The double-deck elevator includes a motor for elevating the outer car frame 1, a hoisting machine 4 and a car-car space adjusting control device 5 for displacing at least one of the two inner cars 2, 3 to adjust a car-car space, car position detectors 7 for detecting the opposition to car position detection plates 8 arranged at positions corresponding to a hall on each floor in the shaft, and a control device for controlling the operation of the double-deck elevator. The control device controls the car-car space adjusting control device 5 in accordance with a specified value for the space between the inner cars depending on a destination floor and stops the motor in accordance with the condition that the car position detection plates 8 are detected by the car position detectors 7 to actualize landing control.
