PACKET PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND NETWORK SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce degradation in communication quality in the processing of packets flowing between communication devices. SOLUTION: A network system is disclosed which has a packet processing apparatus which is connected with a communication device for transferring packets of stream data having at least sound or moving images and processes and transfers the packets relating to the communication device. The packet processing apparatus includes: a general purpose processing section for performing general purpose processing including application control processing relating to the packet processing of the packet processing apparatus; a normal packet processing section for processing the packets received from the communication device according to control information given from the general purpose processing section, and requesting processing to the general purpose processing section on an exception packet other than predetermined processing object packets; and a module for controlling a band relating to the exception packet flowing from the normal packet processing section to the general purpose processing section according to the operation condition of the packet processing apparatus.
