TOUCH SCREEN SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch screen system enables fine multi-touch recognition, and a method of driving the same. SOLUTION: The touch screen system includes: a touch screen panel which includes a plurality of driving lines, a plurality of sensing lines arrayed in a direction crossing the driving lines, and a plurality of sensing cells formed at crossing regions of the driving lines and the sensing lines; a driving circuit for sequentially applying driving signals to the driving lines; a sensing circuit for detecting changes in capacitance sensed by the sensing cells to generate sensing signals corresponding to the changes; a processor for discriminating a detected touch position on the basis of the sensing signals from the sensing circuit; and an active stylus separated from the touch screen panel and configured to output an electric field in synchronization with a driving signal applied to a driving line coupled to a sensing cell adjacent to the active stylus when the active stylus approaches or contacts the touch screen panel.
