Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of passing a strip in continuous processing equipment of a steel strip and free loop equipment, by which the break of the steel strip is suppressed. SOLUTION: In the continuous processing equipment which includes a welding machine for forming a continuous steel strip 24 by welding end parts in the longitudinal direction of un-welded steel strips 22 each other and the free loop equipment which is arranged on the downstream side of the welding machine for moving the steel strip 24 which is continuously passed while supporting it in the state where the strip hangs down by the dead weight, cross-sectional area reduced part forming equipment by which the cross-sectional area of at least a part in the vicinity of the weld zone 30 of the steel strip 24 is reduced on the upstream side of the free loop equipment.
