Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power source device for arc welding, capable of efficiently reducing a load current to be a generation factor of spatters. SOLUTION: The power source device for arc welding includes a current reducing means (a switch S5, a switch S6, a control circuit 21, and the like) for reducing a load current by converting a D/C power generated in a D/C reactor L2 into an A/C power to conduct power regeneration on the primary side of a transformer T along with restriction of the operation of an inverter circuit 11 in a predetermined period including the time of arc reignition. Namely, since an arc force becomes large to generate spatters when the load current right after the arc reignition is large, the transmission of power to the secondary side of the transformer T is stopped by stopping the inverter circuit 11 for the predetermined period, and the power regeneration on the primary side of the transformer T is conducted by converting the D/C power generated in the reactor L2 into an A/C power with on-off operation of the switches S5, S6, so that consumption of the electromagnetic energy accumulated in the reactor L2, that is reduction of the load current, is achieved.
