PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: in a conventional digital camera, when photographing in a place where the use of a flash is prohibited, light leaks from a monitor arranged at a back of the body of the digital camera or the like even when the digital camera is set so as to stop the light emission of the flash. SOLUTION: In a digital camera 1, a control which prohibits the light emission of a flash 32 and a predetermined light-emitting part by light emission control means is performed in a step S2 or a step S19 according to a setting of a dark place flash prohibition mode of setting means that is manually set in a step S1 (dark place flash prohibition mode: ON) shown in Fig.2 or automatically set in a step S18 (not shown). Therefore, even in a place where strict imaging conditions are applied, for example, the use of the flash is prohibited and only an imaging through a finder 16 is allowed, since the light emission from the digital camera 1 is suppressed as much as possible, the imaging using the digital camera 1 can be performed without hesitation according to the user's wishes.
