PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that users cannot know programs of days ahead of a predetermined fixed number of days because data of the predetermined fixed number of days are generally acquired for program information. SOLUTION: The program information acquiring apparatus includes a channel selecting means for selecting channels used to extract program information in a step 1, a channel number acquiring means for acquiring the number of selected channels in a step 3, a capacity allocating means for allocating the capacity of the program information storage memory to each of the channels depending on the acquired number of channels in a step 4, and a program information storage control means for making the program information storage memory store the program information of the selected channels within a range of the allocated capacity in a step 5.
