INFORMATION MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING DATABASE UPDATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate update processing of a database, by determining the necessity of updating the database by service of plural kinds of services, even when a portable terminal uses an external memory. SOLUTION: An information management device is provided removably with an external memory 200, that stores plural kinds of service contents and manages a database 107, including plural kinds of service contents. A generation section 104 generates, by service, discriminatory information presenting the state of service contents stored in the external memory 200 indicating the state immediately prior to being removed; a determination section 105 compares the state of service contents presented in the discriminatory information with the state of service contents stored in the external memory 200, when the memory is reattached, and determines whether the updating for database 107 is required by services stored in the external memory 200.
