Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of preventing an injury accident of a pedestrian by periodically measuring the distance between the pedestrian and a bicycle coming close to the pedestrian from ahead or from behind and alarming the pedestrian when the distance between the bicycle and the pedestrian comes within a predetermined distance. SOLUTION: The apparatus for pedestrian safety measures periodically detects the distance between a pedestrian and a bicycle coming close to the pedestrian by an infrared transmitter and an infrared receiver, produces sound or emits flashing light by the actuation of an alarm mechanism when the distance d comes within a value smaller than a predetermined allowable distance D, and alerts the pedestrian.
