Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification system for an internal combustion engine capable of improving the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine by efficiently regenerating a filter with a fewer fuel amount while preventing the pressure loss of the filter from being excessive by adequately removing SOF. SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification system 1 for an engine 3 calculates a SOOT accumulation amount MSOOT and an SOF accumulation amount MSOOT (steps 5, 6) for calculating a particulate accumulation amount MPM based thereon (step 7). In the case the particulate accumulation amount MPM is the same as or higher than a PM threshold value MPMREF and the SOF accumulation amount MSOF is the same as or higher than an SOF threshold value MSOFREF, it controls the filter temperature TDPF to an SOF removing temperature TSOFREM lower than a SOOT combustion temperature TSOOT and higher than an SOF combustion temperature TSOF for removing the SOF (steps 10 to 12).
