Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a rubber surface for improving retentivity of a lubricant between the surface and a counterpart member to reduce friction with the counterpart member and abrasion while increasing wettability of the lubricant; and a sealing member obtained by the method for processing a rubber surface. SOLUTION: The method for processing a rubber surface is implemented by one of the following embodiments. In a first embodiment, multiple small holes 11 are formed in regular dotted form on the surface 1a of a rubber base material 1 by laser irradiation by a laser irradiation device 2. In a second embodiment, a surface layer part of the rubber base material 1 is peeled and removed by laser irradiation by the laser irradiation device 2. In the third embodiment, the first and second embodiments are used together. The seal member 6 includes a seal lip part which is processed by one of these processing methods.
