ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of further stably continuing assist force impartment, when detecting steering torque based on one sensor signal. SOLUTION: An ECU controls operation of an EPS (electric power steering) actuator for periodically impressing momentary repulsive motor torque on a steering system in relation to the changing direction of its assist force, when performing assist continuing control of using a sensor signal (a remaining sensor signal) output by a sensor element on the side of not detecting failure. Abnormality of the remaining sensor signal is detected based on whether or not impression of this momentary repulsive motor torque is reflected on the remaining sensor signal being the basis of its assist continuing control.
