SORTING DEVICE AND SORTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sort an object from sorting objects with high purity and high efficiency. SOLUTION: A sorting device includes: a transport means 1 which successively transports the sorting objects 11 flatly disposed to form one layer, and drops the sorting objects at a predetermined position while keeping a width in transport; a positional information acquisition means 4 which acquires the positional information of the object, being transported by the transport means 1, in the width direction; pipe bodies 8 which are disposed in a line in the width direction, discharges gas to blow off the falling object 2, and is provided with two or more discharge ports 5 to discharge the gas; and solenoid valves 10 which are provided at the two or more pipe bodies 8, respectively, and decides whether to flow the gas to the pipe bodies 8; and a control means 14 which controls the solenoid valves 10 to blow off the falling object 2 based on the positional information obtained from the position information acquisition means 4.
