APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING PIPING PLUGGING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector which can stably detect piping plugging irrespective of variations in the flow rate and mass of dumped garbage. SOLUTION: A piping plugging detector 1, which is provided on the dump piping 3 in a garbage incinerator 2, includes a plurality of vibration sensors 7A, 7B, 7C mounted on a pipe wall of this piping, and a determination part 8 which determines that plugging occurs in the piping when each of vibrations detected by a plurality of vibration sensors 7A, 7B, 7C is reduced in a different timing. Using a threshold L and a detection time T which varies with operation parameters, the vibration acceleration (vibration waveform) detected by the vibration sensors 7A, 7B, 7C is used by the determination part 8 as the number of times of impact vibrations n when the vibration acceleration above the threshold L is measured within the detection time T.
