Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily and inexpensively manufacturing a photocatalyst having high durability, high photocatalytic efficiency and high flexibility of material selection. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the photocatalyst, titanium powder having a particle diameter of 0.01-5.00 mm or preliminarily fired powder prepared by preliminarily firing the titanium powder under an oxidizing atmosphere at a temperature below the melting temperature of titanium is dispersed on a base material, then the dispersed titanium powder or the preliminarily fired powder is subjected to firing treatment under an oxidizing atmosphere at a temperature below the melting temperature of titanium, and thus the photocatalyst having a granular oxide of titanium powder which is dispersed and fixed to the surface of the base material is obtained.
