Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which solves the safety problems of a high-capacity electrode assembly, and reduces the number of components and circuit devices connecting a plurality of cells to prevent cell swelling and unbalanced electrolyte distribution. SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes a first current collector, a plurality of electrode assemblies which are arranged in parallel to each other and are connected electrically via the first current collector, spacers, and a can housing the first current collector, the electrode assemblies, and the spacers. Each of the electrode assemblies has two ends facing each other and an outer surface formed between the two ends. The first current collector is connected electrically to one of the two ends of each electrode assembly. Each spacer is situated between adjacent electrode assemblies and/or between the inner surface of the can and at least one of the electrode assemblies.
