METHOD FOR PRESCRIBING MULTIFOCAL OPHTHALMIC LENS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome defects of conventional lenses, and to assure wearing person's good visual comfortableness, a high near vision region, and a wide visual field in a near vision region, an intermediate vision region and the far vision region. SOLUTION: A multifocal ophthalmic lens comprises a far vision region VL, a near vision region VP, and an intermediate vision region VI and has a high near vision region and has a wide visual field in the neat vision region, the intermediate vision region, and the far vision region VL. Progression is gentle although the distance between a mounting center on the lens and a point where power addition is 85% higher than power addition at a far vision control point is less than 16 mm, while simultaneously a maximum cylinder value on the inside of a circle having a radius of 20 mm, which is aligned to a geometrical center of the lens, is kept at a low value.
