Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device which hardly occurs displacement of its axis from the front-back direction even if an operator does not watch its input part when he wants to move the input part in the front-back direction. SOLUTION: A grip 12 of the operating device 10 has: a front face 22 which can be touched by the little finger F5 when the grip is held by the left hand LH; a rear face 24 which is opposed to the front face 22 and is touched by at least a part of the ball of the thumb of the palm; right and left side faces 28 and 26 which connect the front face 22 and the rear face 24; and curved faces 32 and 34 on right and left rear sides which are formed between the rear face 24 and the right and left side faces 28 and 26 respectively. The rear face 24 forms a part of an arc having a radius Rb. A track ball 48 which can be operated for input by the ball of the thumb F1 to and fro, from side to side and obliquely is arranged inside a virtual arc V which is virtually extended from the arc. The left rear curved face 34 has an inclination angle θ which is inclined toward the right rear side with respect to the left face 26 and brings the rear face 24 closer to the right from the center between right and left.
