Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a photoelectric conversion semiconductor layer which has a main component of a compound semiconductor containing multiple metallic elements, can be manufactured at low cost without requiring a high temperature process, shows high adhesion to a substrate, and has less residual organic component. SOLUTION: The method is provided for manufacturing the photoelectric conversion semiconductor layer having the main component of one kind of the compound semiconductor containing multiple metallic elements. The manufacturing method includes step (A) of forming a coating layer on a substrate by applying a coating agent thereon, the coating agent containing multiple kinds of inorganic particles of a low-order composition each of which contains metallic elements fewer than metallic elements as a main component of the photoelectric conversion semiconductor layer and one or two kinds or more of organic components, and step (C) of heating and pressurizing the coating layer at a temperature and a pressure that give the coating layer a relative density of 60 to 90% to turn a main component of the coating layer into the compound semiconductor.
