METHOD OF ESTIMATING PREVENTIVE REPLACEMENT LIFETIME COMPONENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a failure management system include a program for calculating the value of the preventive replacement time from a table for taking the operation situation and operation time of whole of the country. SOLUTION: An information processing system includes an information processing apparatus having a failure reporting function and a failure management system connected to it via a network. Regarding the preventive replacement lifetime component such as a hard disk mounted on the information processing apparatus, the failure rate of the lifetime component is calculated based on the failure information and operation time of the information processing apparatus operating in the country, the preventive replacement time of the lifetime component is regularly calculated to an optimal value (varying value), and the preventive replacement is reported when the operation time of the information processing apparatus approaches the preventive replacement time.
