Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for treads enabling rolling resistance to be reduced while enabling durability such as wear resistance and tear resistance to be improved. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for treads contains a softening agent having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of ≤-40°C and carbon black in a rubber ingredient containing natural rubber or natural rubber and at least one conjugated diene polymer. The carbon black is obtained with the use of a reaction apparatus in which a combustion gas generation zone, a reaction zone and a reaction stop zone are connected and by the steps of: generating a high-temperature combustion gas in the combustion gas generation zone; introducing a raw material by spraying into the reaction zone to form a carbon black-containing reactant gas flow; and quenching the reactant gas flow in the reaction stop zone by a means for multistage quenching-medium introduction to terminate the reaction. The carbon black in the means for multistage quenching-medium introduction has toluene discoloration satisfying specific relationships. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
