PACKING SHOCK-ABSORBING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occupied area, the weight and the manufacturing cost of a packing shock-absorbing material used for the transport and the storage of a product such as an HDD for a computer. SOLUTION: A shock-absorbing material 1 is formed of polypropylene foam with its foaming magnification of 45 times, and the entire overall shape of the shock-absorbing material is a box shape. Four bulkheads 15 are provided therein parallel to each other and at an equal spacing along its short side direction. A partition part 16 for forming a storage part in which an HDD is fitted and stored is provided on each bulkhead 15. A large number of recesses 11 having an arc-shaped sectional shape are formed in both side walls in the longitudinal direction of the shock-absorbing material 1 in the vertical direction and at an equal spacing. A large number of projections having an arc-shaped sectional shape between a large number of recesses are formed to form a rib 12 to absorb shocks to be applied to both side walls.
