Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for applying a photo-activated layered polymer coating onto a substrate material. SOLUTION: At least two separate monomer layers at least one of which includes a photoinitiator capable of producing cationic active centers are applied onto the substrate material. The at least one layer including the photoinitiator is exposed to a source of UV radiation at a desired wavelength forming cationic active centers, whereby the at least two separate monomer layers react in a polymerization reaction which forms a cured layered material. The cationic active centers of the exposed monomer layer migrate to the unexposed layer such that both layers cure via the polymerization reaction. The cure is accomplished in not less than one layer with the method by cationic active center mobilization without containing the photoinitiator or without exposing to initiating light.
