UPRIGHT VACUUM CLEANER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upright vacuum cleaner allowing a user to easily recognize the amount of dust collected and accumulated in a dust cup without enlarging the dimensions of an opening for visual recognition. SOLUTION: The upright vacuum cleaner includes: a vertically long cleaner body 3 having an operating handle 5 at an upper part and an electric blower 6 disposed inside; a suction tool 1 for floor disposed on the lower side of the cleaner body 3 and turnably attached; and the dust cup 8 housed under the cleaner body 3 and communicating with the suction tool 1 for floor for collecting dust sucked from the suction tool 1 for floor by the operation of the electric blower 6. The dust cup 8 is formed of a material to make the inside visible, and is composed of a container 9 to which a filter 13 can be detachably attached inside, and an ornament plate 10 covering a side surface of the container 9. A viewing window, through which the inside of the container 9 is visible, is formed on the ornament plate 10, and a translucent part 16 is formed on the bottom of the dust cup to lead outside light into the dust cup.
